There is tension rising in the air as America prepares for a historical time. I wanted to share a few words whether you are on the fence about voting or you’re afraid to vote:
Just because you vote for a candidate does not mean that you stand by everything they’ve done, their past, their flaws or their imperfections — we are all imperfect. There are no perfect people or perfect candidates. However, it means you think this person is the most suitable candidate to restore our constitution and the rights of the American people.
The process of voting alone will teach you so much about yourself. You will learn about what you value, what you care for, what triggers you, why you react to certain topics the way you do. You will learn more about the country you grew up in, it’s past, present and future.
Your vote is a stand you take to say “I matter” and my rights matter.
Before you vote, pray. Ask God for guidance. Ask that you may be lead to the highest and greatest good of humanity. Ask that you vote independent of mass media manipulation, independent of what your family or friends are saying especially if doesn’t feel aligned with your own Inner wisdom. You are wise and you are intelligent. Employ the intelligence of your Inner Wisdom, the part of you that is connected to the Divine. Vote based on your own discernment and your own direct experience.
Aside from hearsay, what has been your own direct experience? What have you gone through?
Last night I attended a class at the American Meditation Institute and the reading spoke to exactly what we’re experiencing during this election season. In the Perennial Psychology of the Bhavad Gita, Swami Rama says,
“everyone has a role to play based on their nature”.
Some of us have a role to vote for Trump.
Some of us have a role to vote for Kamala.
Some of us have a role to get out and go rally.
Some of us have a role to stay in silence and meditate.
Some of us have a role to write.
Some of us have a role to speak.
Everyone has a different role to play based on their karmic responsibility in this lifetime.
We all have roles we are playing the contribute to the evolution of Consciousness.
The question is, can we see beyond the division and still have love for one another?
I went for a walk at the harbor with my family and I noticed my mind distracted by who was wearing red and who was blue.
Meanwhile, my dog saw gray.
Meanwhile, the sun was setting and the sky was painted with beautiful colors.
Meanwhile, the fronds of the palm trees were swaying from the slight breeze.
Meanwhile there is peace and harmony.
It is in the mind that sees division.
It’s what our mind was created to do.
And the best news, is we can train our minds by taking skillful action in each moment.
By honoring our conscience and doing what’s right in each moment.
If we do not agree on the same issues, if we’re not on the same team, can we still have peace and harmony?
Can we sit in the same room as someone who has different beliefs than us and still have compassion for them?
And no matter who wins this election, can we give each other kindness and grace?
Or are we allowing this election to pin us against each other and divide us?
It is God’s will, not my will or yours.
As I opened the Bible, I flipped to Psalms 47 and it says
“O Clap your hands, all your people, shout to God with the voice of triumph for the Lord most High is a great king on Earth who shall subdue the people under us and the nations under our feet. He shall choose our inheritance for us. Sing praises to God who sits upon the throne of holiness.”
Being that this will be the 47th president, I found that it spoke to our work no matter what happens. To rejoice in the God that created us all.
Psalms 49:
“Hear this, give ears, people of the world, low and high, rich and poor together. My mouth shall speak of wisdom and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.”
No matter the results of this election, can we still be the united part of the United States of America? Can we still live in peace and harmony? Can we practice detachment from the outcome?
How we treat each other is more important than who we vote for.
Only when we can restore love and peace within ourselves, when we can calm the waters of our own rage and anger, can we restore the peace in our country and in our world. 🍵

Warmly,
You’re like a lovely piece of thread weaving in and over and through, uniting the definition of to the practice of love- if a view of something is through a telescope or a hand held magnifying glass - it may seem two different pictures .. arguably, neither right nor wrong… maybe exactly the same just from different viewpoints… as you sweetly point out to the reader… different views cannot be shared or honored or celebrated without reciprocal lens .. or context… aka “love”
Thank you for being you.
