Cajun Sausage Jambolaya

Everyone lives their lives with their own certain beliefs and not everyone believes in the same thing. That’s expected and that’s okay because it’s what makes this world a little more of an interesting place to be in. I have my beliefs when it comes to nutrition, wellness and food. I don’t believe in overstuffing the body with saturated fats and processed foods, however, people around me may not believe the same. The decisions people choose for themselves are up to them to decide and up to you to

lead your life with an open mind.

With that being said, I always enjoy cooking for my younger brother when he asks of an entree from me. The greatest pleasure of being a cook since 10 years old is being able to taste food in my mouth and create deliciousness without a lick into the dish. My recipes are all made from my using my own imagination about blends of seasonings and flavors that magically fuse together and unify to become a delicious entree.

You would think that adversity rules you over, but it’s what ultimately helps you in the end.


I do not have the exact recipe to this dish as I have stated that I just throw things together. I can tell you a few things:

Sautee onion in olive oil to allow it to sweat. Added some minced garlic. Added sliced vidalia sausages. Added

  • Cajun seasoning
  • Oregano
  • Chilli powder
  • Paprika
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Tomato paste
  • Green onion
  • Pepper

Stirred for about 5 minutes until sausages were cooked. Added 2 cups of brown rice, along with some chicken broth. If I were to make this for myself, I would omit the vidalia sausages and use lean turkey sausages instead but that’s pretty much the only substition =) Eating healthy is amazing. Trust me on that 😉
