“Take a deep breath and enjoy your life.”
Too many people focus on the destination versus the beauty of the journey. Do things because you love to do it, not because you have to. Thinking in the mind frame of someone who is eager to get fit, we focus on wanting to get there so bad that we forget to enjoy the journey for all it is worth. The worse thing you can for yourself is obsess over losing weight and therefore, you stray away from the pleasure of it all. There are different kinds of obsession and the kind of obsession i’m talking about is unhealthy. It’s the kind of obsessing over a certain image and avoiding what really matters. What really matters is the person you grow to become through your journey, not what you look like.
Your journey of getting to a fit lifestyle should be fun. You should focus on the positives and not focus on how “skinny” or fit you want to get. Yep, that’s right. I’m telling you not to focus on the outcomes but to breathe and focus on the present moment. You’re supposed to slip here and there, embrace it.
Short term goals are made to maintain long term outcomes. So take pleasure in the moment and the journey. Learn from it, grow from it and have fun with it! The whole purpose is to enjoy the ride and the journey, after all it is a lifestyle. Loving the journey means itching for that euphoric high after every sweaty workout. It means embracing the way your body feels when you wake up sore the next morning. Waking up super early and laughing because you feel high off of the morning cold. Making tasty recipes and not depriving yourself of yummy foods. Everything in life should be about the moment.
NO RESULT WILL EVER COUNT AS MUCH AS THE PROGRESS THAT MAKES YOU STRONG. At the end of the journey, its the fact that you’ve worked that hard to reach your goal that makes it all the more sweeter. Embrace the journey, embrace every little thing about it, and never forget to enjoy life while you do it.
In the end, success comes within the journey, not the destination. Enjoy every moment of it.
