When finding yourself in the mood to snack, it’s important to stick to a equal balance of macronutrients. So a healthy snack would include your balance of protein, complex carb and healthy fats. It’s better than a bag of chips for many reasons but having a healthy balance will also keep you full and keep you from nibbling on other things and gaining empty calories!
Here is a snack that I like to munch on as one of my meals for the day. Mind you it only takes about 2 minutes to make and it’s healthy for you. Can’t beat that now can we?
Fruit & Cottage Rice Cake Tower Recipe
1 rice cake
1 tbsp almond butter
2 tbsp low fat cottage cheese
slices of 1/2 an apple
dash of cinnamon
1. Spread almond butter on your rice cake. Add apple slices. Then add cottage cheese and cinnamon on top.
